Supplemental Reading Report |
|
|
Classification and
Evolution |
In
general, a lab test will be given at the beginning of each lab on the preceding
lab. Each lab test will count 10
points and will consist of questions in different formats, depending on the
material. Eleven lab tests will be
given and the lowest score will be dropped - giving 100 lab points for those
tests. (See the special notes below about
testing on some individual labs.) The supplemental reading
assignment is due during the next-to-last lab period and is worth 20 lab points.
Your final lab grade will be a percentage score based on the total of 120
lab points, i.e., your lab grade will be (lab points earned)/120.
(Note that the supplemental reading assignment counts 20/120 = 16.67% of
your lab grade.) The lab grade
counts 25% of your final course grade.
You may take an essay makeup test for any lab test you miss during the
course (with one exception noted below) at the end of your next-to-last lab of the
course, i.e., when the class has
finished with the supplemental reading oral presentations.
A person arriving late for lab has missed the lab test if the first lab
test paper has been handed in already.
Special notes about testing on some individual labs:
- One lab test will be given on the labs
Population Biology I and II combined on Wednesday June 11.
- No lab test will be given on Thursday June 12 to allow more time for the
stream lab; the test for the tree identification lab will be given on Monday
June 16, along with the test on the stream lab, i.e., there will be TWO lab
tests on June 16th.
- Your lab grade for the Classification and Evolution lab will be based on your
work in the lab, will count as one lab test, and no makeup for this lab is
available.
Note: The lab schedule is subject to change based on the weather, however plan to attend lab whatever the weather.
