Downloading Instructions and Disclaimer
|
| The downloadable programs and documents on this web site are in the form
of compressed files. Files with the "ZIP" extension have to be unzipped
with a third-party program like PKZip
or WinZip. Files with the "EXE"
extension are self-extracting. In some cases these files are "archives"
consisting of several files compressed together to save space and make
downloading easier.
To download a file click on the file name. Your browser should recognize what you are trying to do and will ask what directory on your hard drive to put the file in. (If that doesn't seem to work try clicking on the file name with the right mouse button and see if a menu appears with a download option.) I recommend that you put the file in an empty temporary directory so that you can keep track of all the extracted files for easy installation and deletion. In the case of self-extracting (EXE) files, double-click on it from within Windows Explorer and it will decompress. In the case of zipped (ZIP) files use your decompression program to unzip it. Computer simulations come with a README file with further instructions on installation and use. The programs and documents I have made available for downloading are presented "as is." You are welcome to use them but you do so at your own risk. I have tested the programs on various IBM-compatible machines but I cannot guarantee that they will work as expected on every PC. Similarly, I cannot guarantee that there are no errors in the lab exercises. If you have any problems with the programs or find any mistakes in the lab exercises I would appreciate hearing from you. |
